Woodrow Residential
Woodrow Residential - led by Mrs Whitby (Head of Music), Mr Sheldrake (Head of Drama) and Miss Restall (Teacher of PE):
Last Friday through to Sunday afternoon, a group of 14 students from our music specialism classes and extra-curricular music and drama clubs enjoyed a residential trip to Woodrow.
The weekend was packed with a wide range of exciting activities designed to build confidence, teamwork, and creativity. Students had the opportunity to challenge themselves physically with activities such as the high ropes and the challenge course. These sessions encouraged everyone to step outside their comfort zones, support one another, and work collaboratively to overcome obstacles. It was fantastic to see students cheering each other on and celebrating each other’s successes.
Alongside the outdoor adventure activities, students also took part in a series of engaging music and drama workshops. During these sessions, they developed their vocal skills by learning how to perform in harmony. One of the highlights of the weekend was the creation of a music video, where students combined their musical talents with creativity and teamwork. The finished piece was a great reflection of their enthusiasm and hard work.
Every student represented the school brilliantly throughout the trip. They showed resilience, positivity, and a willingness to try new things, all while having a great deal of fun. It was a pleasure to see friendships strengthened and new connections formed over the course of the weekend.
Overall, the Woodrow residential was a huge success, filled with laughter, learning, and memorable experiences that we hope will stay with our students and encourage them to join us again next year.
