Sports Captains and Person of the Month
Early this term, after many cancelled clubs, fixtures and tournaments, due to the pandemic, the PE Department were delighted to be able to begin once again entering, travelling to and hosting sports fixtures.
Being able to do this in our wonderful new facilities made it even better. As such we have now been able to appoint new sports captains for the school year and this also means the return of the Sports Person of the Month award.
Congratulations to the newly appointed captains.
7A: Tabitha Little and Willow Kajtar and 7B: Lily Dell;
8A: Betsy Smith;
9A: Risi Tennekoon 9B: Haley Bennett;

For those who were not in school back in February 2020 when these were last awarded, the Sports Person of the Month is given by the PE Department to one student each month to recognise their sporting excellence, commitment and attitude in PE and school sport. The students selected this term have displayed excellence in their sports when representing HGSS, outstanding work in GCSE and/or core PE and a positive and helpful attitude to PE and sport overall. Congratulations to all the following students:
September: Ben Maloney; October: James Keen; November: Lottie Turner and December: Sophie Tavener.
We look forward to considering who the next recipients will be in the months to come!
Have a wonderful Christmas, from the PE Department.
