Welcome from the Headteacher - Mr Ed Hillyard

I welcome you to the Holmer Green Senior School (HGSS) website. HGSS is an 11 – 18 academy situated in Holmer Green Village. We are a non-selective, comprehensive school in a selective county.  We pride ourselves on excellence and the impact we have on shaping student character.

Results this summer were achieved under an atypical system so we have made the decision not to publish them.  Our standards, however have been maintained since the last performance tables were published in 2019 and 2018.  These DfE performance tables give a clear indication as to how successful our Sixth Form provision is with a L3VA progress score of 0.41 “well above average” and a KS4 P8 progress score of 0.39 “above average”. Our current Ofsted grading, from 2016 is “good”.  Students and parents who are considering HGSS, or teachers who are interested in working with us, should find our website informative and helpful in your decision making progress. 

Our Sixth Form is a vibrant and high performing part of the school.  Students who wish to join, and in particular our year 11 students, should look at the Sixth Form pages to see what courses we have on offer and our enrichment that makes us stand out.

A distinctive feature of HGSS is our partnership work with parents and students. Our staff work incredibly hard at helping to transform the lives of HGSS students and go out of their way to ensure that they know each student as an individual in a nurturing environment.
